Not financial advice

Everything on Tech Money Brief, on this site and on our social channels, is general information and news analysis only. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax or security advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any product, service, security or crypto-asset. We do not know your personal situation. Prices and facts can change after publication. Check official sources and, where needed, talk to a licensed professional before making decisions.

We do not promote financial contracts, crypto-assets or crypto-asset services.

How we make money: affiliate links

Tech Money Brief is free to read: no paywall, nothing to buy from us. To pay for it, we use affiliate links, mainly in our AI tools compared section and sometimes in briefs.

  • If you click an affiliate link and then buy or sign up, the seller may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same.
  • We may apply to affiliate networks and programmes such as CJ Affiliate, Impact, PartnerStack or Amazon Associates. We will add the specific statements those programmes require (for example Amazon's) here before using them.
  • Every affiliate link is labelled "Affiliate link" right next to it, and pages with affiliate links show a short disclosure line before the first link. In videos, we say so on screen and in the description, not hidden at the bottom.
  • Affiliate links are marked for search engines too (rel="sponsored").
  • Commissions never decide what we cover, include, recommend or how we rank it, and never change the facts. We list tools that have no affiliate programme too.
  • Right now there are no live affiliate links on the site yet, no paid partnerships and no sponsored content.

No ads, no sponsored briefs

We show no advertising banners or ad networks (they would need tracking cookies and your consent). If a brand ever pays us to feature something, it will be labelled "Ad", "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership" (using the platforms' paid-partnership tools), and "Publicité" or "Collaboration commerciale" in French-language content.

The rules we follow

  • United States: FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255): clear and conspicuous disclosure of material connections, including affiliate commissions.
  • France: law no. 2023-451 of 9 June 2023 on commercial influence ("loi Influenceurs"), which requires the mentions "Publicité" or "Collaboration commerciale" on promotional content, "Images virtuelles" on AI-generated faces or bodies, and bans influencer promotion of certain financial products and crypto-assets.
  • European Union: Unfair Commercial Practices Directive (2005/29/EC): commercial intent must always be identifiable; and the Digital Services Act's transparency principles.
  • United Kingdom: CAP Code and ASA guidance on affiliate marketing ("#ad" / "Affiliate link").
