Who we are
This website (techmoneybrief.com) is published by Hugo Juy (individual, non-professional publisher), Not published: non-professional publisher, personal details provided to the hosting provider (LCEN art. 6-III-2). Contact by email below. ("we"). Contact for any privacy question: techmoneybrief@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the limited data described below.
What we collect
Nothing through the site itself. We have no accounts, no comment section and no contact form. The only exception is the newsletter sign-up form, described below.
- Our own site sets no cookies and uses no pixels or fingerprinting. The only third-party service that may set cookies is the newsletter form, and it loads only if you accept (see "Cookies and your consent" below).
- Light / dark mode. If you use the theme button, your choice ("light" or "dark") is saved in your browser's local storage on your device, so the site remembers it. It is never sent to us or anyone else, contains nothing about you, and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time. Because it only does what you asked for, it is exempt from consent under the ePrivacy rules (art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, "strictly necessary" for a service you request). Without the button, or with JavaScript off, the site uses the light theme.
- No analytics, no ad trackers, no social media buttons, no embedded videos. The newsletter sign-up form is provided by Beehiiv in an embedded frame. It loads only after you accept, and may then load its own scripts (for example anti-spam checks and Google Tag Manager), subject to Beehiiv's privacy policy. Links to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
- Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so visiting a page does not send your IP address to a font or image provider.
Server logs. Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (+1 650 319 8930)) technically processes your IP address, browser type and the page requested in order to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. We do not use these logs to identify or profile you. Legal basis (GDPR): our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f)). Retention: as set by the host for security purposes, usually a short period.
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when no longer needed (at most 3 years after our last exchange), unless the law requires us to keep them. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you, or steps you ask us to take before a contract.
Affiliate links. We don't track clicks on our side. When you click a link marked "Affiliate link", you leave our site; the affiliate network (for example CJ Affiliate, Impact, PartnerStack or Amazon) and the seller may record the click, for example with their own cookies, to credit the commission. That happens on their sites, under their privacy policies and their own consent requests.
Newsletter (Beehiiv). Our newsletter sign-up form is provided by Beehiiv, Inc. (USA) and, only after you accept (see below), loaded from subscribe-forms.beehiiv.com inside a frame on our pages. Loading that form lets Beehiiv receive technical data such as your IP address and browser type, and Beehiiv's form may use its own scripts and cookies (including security and anti-bot checks) under Beehiiv's privacy policy. If you subscribe, Beehiiv stores your email address on our behalf so we can send you one free email a week. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with the one-click unsubscribe link in every email. We keep your address until you unsubscribe. You can also subscribe directly on our Beehiiv page.
Cookies and your consent
Before you choose, no request is made to Beehiiv. A small banner asks whether to load the newsletter form. Accept loads Beehiiv's form, which may set its own cookies and load its own scripts (for example anti-spam checks and Google Tag Manager), subject to Beehiiv's privacy policy. Decline keeps it off, and you can still subscribe through the plain link to our Beehiiv page. Refusing is as easy as accepting, and the rest of the site works the same either way.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (not in a cookie) for 6 months, then we ask again. To change or withdraw your consent, click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page, or clear this site's data in your browser. Withdrawing stops the form from loading from then on; to remove cookies Beehiiv may already have set, delete them in your browser settings.
We never sell your personal information, never "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and never use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
International transfers
Our hosting and email providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EU/EEA or the UK, they rely on legal safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights

EU / EEA (GDPR) and UK (UK GDPR)
Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority: in France the CNIL, in the UK the ICO, or the authority of your EU country.
United States (including California CCPA/CPRA and other state privacy laws)
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information. You have the right to know what we hold about you, to correct it and to delete it, and we will not discriminate against you for using these rights. Because we don't sell or share data, there is nothing to opt out of; we also respect Global Privacy Control signals by default.

You can access and correct your personal information and withdraw consent. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Brazil (LGPD)
You have the rights in Article 18 of the LGPD, including confirmation, access, correction, anonymisation or deletion, portability and information about sharing. You can complain to the ANPD.
Other countries
Wherever you live, you can contact us to access, correct or delete data about you, and we will honour the rights your local law gives you.
Children
This site and our channels are made for a general adult audience and are not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, in line with the US COPPA rule and the GDPR. If you think a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is static (no database, no login) and served over HTTPS only.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and its date. Material changes (for example the newsletter launch) will be announced on the site.
